The new Blitzen Trapper album, Furr, can best be described as what Bob Dylan and the Band’s Basement Tapes would sound like if they had somehow jumped forward in time to hear Camper Van Beethoven, the Meat Puppets and the Flaming Lips before they retreated to Woodstock.  Either that, or if Paul Simon, Donovan, Chris Robinson and Jim James replaced Dylan, Rick Danko, Levon Helm and Richard Manual as vocalists.  Well, maybe it’s a little hard to find comparisons b..
